February 22, 2022: A special and eagerly awaited issue, the 52nd volume of Forbes Italia, in which the selection of the 100 Italian excellences of food & wine stands out. A list of Italian activities from which to take an example to improve and keep the flag of “Made in Italy” high.

“It is a great satisfaction to be present in the Magazine that lists the ambassadors of Made in Italy in the world. We now want to continue to grow and establish ourselves even more” say Paolo and Guido Sartirano, owners of the winery Cantine Sansilvestro, regarding the publication of the magazine in February 2022.

The history of Paolo Sartirano began at a very young age. His father Giovanni always takes him both among the rows of the family vineyards and in the cellar to check the refining of the Barolo D.O.C.G. Patres, the company’s flagship wine, but also in those events where the local winemakers met in the shelter of a small café in Alba, to decide the works and the guidilines that would mark the new harvest to come.

Paolo remembers these meetings with details worthy of a fairytale: a game of glances, gestures and subtle phrases that in the eyes of a child are a real theater. These memories are unique, a treasure that cannot get lost and that helps Paolo Sartirano to be part of his father’s world of wine from a very young age. Actually in 1988, at the age of 24, he also bought the Costa di Bussia estate.

The core of the company is to provide quality and flexibility to its customers at the same time, whether they are importers, distributors or even private customers, in order to always be able to satisfy any need, thanks to its ability to bring to the wine market the most important wines produced in Piedmont.

Cantine Sansilvestro produces most of the D.O.C. and D.O.C.G. of Piedmont, with an active distribution in more than 35 countries around the world. After an initial growth in the foreign market, recently it is becoming increasingly popular also in the domestic market. In 2006, a new path began with the important goal of obtaining ICEA organic certification and the production of organic wines. Now the next goal is the confirmation of the Equalitas certification, one of the highest expressions of green certifications.

The next steps to take are to resume business relationships vis-a-vis at trade fairs both in Italy, in Verona and abroad in Germany, in Dusseldorf. For Paolo Sartirano and the Sansilvestro wines, a year full of commitments and goals promises to continue the growth of recent years, but above to keep all the tradition of the Langhe hills alive, which make thousands of winelovers fall in love every day.
